How the Time Card Calculator works

You enter your Start and End times (and any break) for each day, and the calculator adds up your daily and weekly hours — and your pay, if you add a rate. No sign-up.

Step by step

  1. Set your week. Use Show weekend for 5 or 7 days, and Week start to pick the first day.
  2. Enter times. Add Start and End for each day, in 12-hour or 24-hour format.
  3. Handle breaks. Put unpaid time in Break and turn on Deduct breaks.
  4. Add overtime (optional). Turn on Include Payment Information, set your Regular payment rate, then choose Calculate Overtime (Standard) or California Overtime Calculations.
  5. Read the result. The summary shows Regular Time, Overtime (Reg x1.5), Total Time, and Gross Pay — in decimal and HH:MM.
  6. Save or share. Print or save a PDF for free; in the app you can Save, export Excel/CSV, add a logo, and back up your data.

What it does not do

To keep things simple, the calculator totals one week at a time and works within a single day. It doesn’t use calendar dates, multi-week grids, or multiple employees — for a longer period, total each week and add them.

At a glance

  1. Input: Start, End, Break per day.
  2. Options: overtime, rate, rounding, 12/24-hour.
  3. Output: total hours (decimal + HH:MM) and gross pay.
  4. Free with no sign-up; Pro extras in the app.
